During our project we will adress
issues in 3 areas, dealing with:
1.
|
New
concepts of work and new job profiles |
2.
|
New
pedagogical concepts in training of mechatronics |
3.
|
New
technological concepts which are suitable to support innovative
learning techniques. |
Exhaustive Requirement Analysis
In the automation industry today we have a general trend
towards more complex and networked systems and also a growing
integration of mechanics, electrics and informatics. The special
needs of those systems are analysed in depth and leed to the
DERIVE tasks.
Learning Environment for Mechatronics
Both trends lead to the fact that mechatronics
and especially tele-service take a key role in automation industry.
This also has impact to the demands for qualification, namely
in two directions:
On the one hand, there are demands
for so called multi-skilled technicians, having a comprehensive
under-standing of hetero-genious systems. On the other hand,
there are demands for collaboration between (specialised) technicians
also with different language and background, requiring social
abilities.
Technology Implementation Plan
From the technical point of view, we plan to support new metaphors
fourr the man-machine-interaction. Especially in the context
of mechatronic training, it seems to be appropriate to use methaphors
which go beyond the desktop metaphor, especially the workshop-and
the physical room metaphor In the context of mechatronics, which
covers both real automation systems and also models and material
on computers, it will probably be useful for learning if both
aspects would be addresses by the learning environment. Therfore
we will integrate real systems with virtual models in a mixed
reality learning setting.
Co-operation with Local Industry
The DERIVE concept
is strongly focused for an integration into Festo´s Product
Palette. |
