Investigate Microprocessor Based Systems

 

Overview

This module covers element 19.1 of the microelectronic systems unit. The completion of this module and the associated assignment will cover the following performance criteria.

A student must

1. describe the features of microprocessors.

2. describe microcomputers in terms of their constituent elements, using block diagrams.

3. describe the operation of microcomputer elements and their functions.

4. explain factors influencing microcomputer design.

This module is expected to take 20 hours of study to complete of which 12.5 hours are to be in the resource areas. The module consists of a number of worksheets and exercises. Each worksheet must be completed and presented to the tutor.
